Statement of Advocacy for Families

"Every young child possesses an inherent right to an education that honors, preserves, and builds upon their home language and cultural identity. Language is the primary vehicle through which families pass down their histories, values, and emotional bonds. When early childhood systems fail to accommodate home languages, they create artificial divides between home and school, effectively silencing parents and marginalizing the children they serve.

As early childhood advocates, we refuse to view linguistic diversity as a barrier to be overcome; instead, we recognize it as a profound cognitive and cultural strength. True educational equity requires programs to actively dismantle language barriers, establish reciprocal bidirectional communication, and fiercely protect the linguistic rights of all families.
