The Reflection
- Two considerations that influence my choice of children’s books to use with students.
Two considerations that influence my choice of children's books for students are imagination and self-belief. The genre of book I selected, was fairy tales. As a child growing up, I loved reading books and fairytales, which made me believe in my imagination as a child using my self-belief. In this course, I learned that diversity supports students' growth and cultural influences. Imagination and self belief helps toddler building cognitive, emotional, and social skills. Characters and imaginative scenarios help children build concepts and problem-solving skills
- Three strategies for using children’s literature in an early childhood environment.
Three strategies for using children's literature in early childhood environments are helping children learn how to read, using everyday language, and representing diverse learning showing interest. Using the literature books in my classroom, I will read them to my toddlers 3 yr to 5 yr of age. I will explain to them what early childhood literature is and what it means. Early childhood literature includes books, stories, songs, and poems.
- Explain how different genres of children’s literature encourage critical thinking skills, creativity, and imagination.
Different genre like folk tales, fiction, non-fiction, and fairy tales encourages critical thinking skills, creativity, and imagination. Folk tales represent cause and effect. It predicts outcomes and evaluates consequences. Children literature is creative by engaging your minds. It encourages children to visualize possibilities beyond everyday reality.
- Discuss how culturally diverse children’s literature affirms students’ backgrounds
Culture-responsive help teach young children what it means and what it is. It validates, affirms, and incorporates students' differences of culture in multiple aspects of learning and development throughout the environment. It encourages children to learn about the content of another culture of differences. Cultural responsiveness teaches approaches to teaching and learning. Example playing music during nap time playing it softly helps the toddlers go to sleep peacefully..
- Describe two benefits of using technology in children’s literature. (E-books, podcasts, websites, etc.)
Using traditional books, educators should know additional ways of interacting with literacy, including media, to encourage critical thinking skills in young children. Examples of media include websites, e-books, and audiobooks. Literacy today depends not only on the basics of decoding and comprehension but also on being competent in digital fluency. Children have rich opportunities to build background knowledge and demonstrate a new set of skills easily using technology.
· Two ways digital Media support learning and young children are by providing an interactive educational context and it enhances communication skills. It connects with chili and family language, development, and social skills, digital tools, such as apps, games, and online books, encourage math reading, and problem-solving activities. Promote hands-on activities. For example, a toddler or child may use educational apps to learn numbers and colors. Video platforms like Skype or FaceTime will help children maintain relationships and communication, especially with distance, family members' support, and language, development, and growth
- I will incorporate best practices in the selection, use, and evaluation of children’s literature in early childhood education.
I will incorporate the best practices into my students, children, literature, and early childhood education by enabling DAP (Developmentally Appropriate Practices). I will read books to my students engage you tell me to the rear ask questions. I will do hands-on learning. I will do communicational interaction with all students and have them interact with their peers as well.
.
- Discuss how you will support families in selecting and using children’s literature.
Three qualities that I know are important for children's literature to support curriculum are to learn how to re-enter it and explore the curriculum. When a child knows how to read, they have to understand how to communicate language through written words. It helps them with communication saying sentences. When children are interested, it’s a form of communication and understanding diversity. Children need to understand other children culture at a young age. It brings on respect and culture at a young age. It’s a culture exploration of others and knowing about others rather than just their name but to gain knowledge.
